This section covers some of the theory behind the basic heat transfer mechanisms.  Equations are given to calculate the heat flows and the thermal resistances associated with each.  Mass transfer (air leakage) is also covered.

Finally condensation theory is discussed, together with how to assess the condensation risk and design rules for avoiding condensation formation.
