CWDC Introduction to curtain walling design and construction (4 Day)

Target Audience:

This course is aimed at all those involved with the design, procurement and installation of glazed curtain walling and/or rainscreen cladding systems.

Outline:

The course gives a broad introduction to glazed curtain walling and rainscreen cladding systems for those graduating into this field or transferring from other industries.  This course provides the background needed to support further experienced based learning.  The course comprises 4 days of presentations covering such issues as:

• Fundamental performance requirements and testing;
• Key materials, including glass and glazing;
• Building physics (thermal, fire and acoustics);
• Procurement and construction.

Note:

There is some overlap between this course and 'Managing the cladding package', however the ‘CWDC’ course goes into greater detail and covers more topics.   Delegates looking for a general understanding of cladding and glazing systems should register for 'Managing the cladding package’.

Delegates who work exclusively with rainscreen or insulated render cladding should register for ‘Built-up walls’ instead.
