This webinar introduced our recently published Technical Notes on thermal performance and condensation, briefly discussing the target audience and scope.  The TNs covered were:

• TN106 - Fundamentals of heat transfer,
• TN107 - Thermal transmittance (U-values) for built-up walls,
• TN108 - Thermal bridges (Psi and Chi values),
• TN109 - Thermal bridges within SAP and NCM calculations.
• TN110 - Designing building facades to manage the risk of surface condensation and mould growth,
• TN111 - Designing building facades to manage the risk of interstitial condensation.

After a short presentation, we had a Q&A discussion about this work.

• TN114 – Fire performance of facades – Use of combustible materials,

These Technical Notes are the first in a series of four that replace former guidance in TN98.  The remaining two TNs are in preparation and cover the performance curtain walls and built-up walls.

After a short presentation, we had a Q&A discussion about this work.

This webinar introduced our recently published Technical Note on fire performance of facades, TN116 Fire performance of facades – Application to built-up walls.

This is the third TN in our series of four that replace former guidance in TN98.

After a quick recap of TN113 and TN114, we introduced the new guidance, discussing the scope and key takeaways.

Following the presentation, we answered questions about this guidance.

This webinar introduced our recently published embodied carbon calculation tool, FaCE, produced in collaboration with WSP.

After a brief introduction, we had a walkthrough of the tool, showing the various inputs and subsequent results.

We intend to arrange a second webinar to show a more complex example using the tool.  Prior to this, we would really like you download and try using the tool, and then provide your feedback.  This is really important – we are very keen to make this tool as useful as possible, and feedback will help with this process.  Please click here
