Outline
This course explores the sources and use of embodied carbon data in façade design. It explains Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Product Category Rules (PCRs), and how to critically assess and select appropriate data for use in calculations.
Target Audience
Façade consultants, architects, contractors, sustainability professionals, and design managers.
Learning Objectives
- Understand different carbon data sources.
- Read and interpret Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs),
- Understand the role of Product Category Rules (PCRs),
- Assess data quality and comparability,
- Select appropriate EPDs for calculations.
Assessment
- Assessment will be via a series of multiple-choice questions following the course,
- The assessment is timed and must be passed in order to receive a CWCT CPD certificate for the course,
- If the assessment is failed, one re-take will be permitted.
Pre-requisites
Basic understanding of façade systems and sustainability concepts.
