CROSS-UK has published a Topic Paper 'Fire test evidence and product assurance' which considers how fire test evidence is interpreted in practice, the role of assessment in support of fire test evidence, and the broader issue of product assurance within the built environment.
Often, application-specific fire test evidence is not available and in such cases, fire performance is typically supported by a combination of test data and engineering assessment. It is vital that such assessments are sufficiently evidence-based to support the proposed use of the product/system.
