The Future Homes and Buildings Standards: 2023 consultation

In December, the government launched a consultation into the Future Homes and Buildings Standards.  This includes changes to Part 6 (energy efficiency requirements), Part L (conservation of fuel and power) and Part F (ventilation) of the Building Regulations for dwellings and non-domestic buildings.  Evidence on previous changes to Part O (overheating) are also being sought.

Further details can be found here:

The deadline for consultation is 6 March 2024.

Draft versions of the key consultation documents, including:

  • Future Homes Standard notional buildings specifications
  • Approved Document L, Volume 1: Dwellings
  • Approved Document L, Volume 2: Buildings other than dwellings
  • Approved Document F, Volume 1: Dwellings

Can be found here:

This is your opportunity to help shape key future regulations, and we urge you to participate directly in this consultation.
